Matthew Clifton E-Portfolio

I’m a second-year student at Griffith University studying a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering (Honours) and Business Management. Since starting my degree, I’ve developed a strong interest in the defence and aerospace industry, particularly in space and Air Force-related fields.

Throughout my studies, I’ve been drawn to hands-on problem-solving and the process of turning ideas into real, functional designs. I’ve built a solid foundation in areas like engineering design, aerodynamics, and analytical thinking, while also developing my ability to approach challenges from both a technical and strategic perspective. Working in team-based environments such as the Griffith Racing Team and Youth Advisory Council for Coomera, I have strengthened my collaboration skills and learned how to communicate ideas clearly and effectively.

Alongside this, I’ve grown in confidence as a communicator and leader, becoming more comfortable presenting ideas, guiding others, and contributing to group outcomes. These attributes have helped shape how I approach both my work and personal development.

Looking ahead, I want to continue building my skills and contribute to engineering projects that are innovative and impactful. I value innovation, continuous growth, integrity, and collaboration, and I aim to reflect these in everything I do.
